I received this email, & told Wayne I would send it to the list, so here goes. Please respond to Wayne, address below. Elijah McDonald was born May 1834 in Georgia. We believe he was born in Walton or Talbot counties. Do not know his parents names. He had 6 brothers who he thought were all killed in teh Civil War. He married a Martha B. Brooks in Pike county, Alabama in 1857. Her father was Jacob Rutledge Brooks and her mother was Rebecca Jarrot Sappington. It was said Elijah followed the Brooks to Alabama. I plan to travel to Georiga in two weeks. Any help or other suggestions about what resources are available for searching records prior to 1857 would be appreciated. Wayne McDonald WMcdon7794@aol.com
