I have just found out that my brother-in-law descends from a family of ALLENS and just 3 weeks ago I discovered that I did as well. We think it would be fun to find a common ancestor but have been unable to so far. Does anyone have information on the following ancestors/descendents? Gideon H. ALLEN. b. 1807 and m. Lucinda MAYO in Walton Co, GA. Gideon appears in the 1850 Walton Co, GA census as a farmer. His parents were William A. ALLEN probably born in N.C. he married 1. Sara THOMASON, 2. ? BURKE 3. Margaret RICH. Gideon and Lucinda ALLEN had a son, Elisha Thomas ALLEN b. 9-22-1834 d. 5-31-1905 in Walton Co, Buried in Studdard Cem. m. Mary STUDDARD b. 8-2-1841 d. 5-10-1910. Elisha fought in the Civil War. Elisha and Mary ALLEN had a son, Lorenzo Dow ALLEN b. 5-7-1858 Walton Co, GA, d. 9-19-1918 m. Nancy Emma MITCHELL b. 3-25-1856 d. 1-30-1923. Lorenzo and Nancy ALLEN had a son, William Thomas ALLEN b. 1-13-1879 Walton Co, GA, d. 11-18-1953 m. Clara Louella Studdard b. 10-21-1883 Walton Co, GA d. 3-8-1972.
