    1. [GAWALTON] CEMETERIES
    2. Bettie Wood
    3. Hi all, Several times a week I am getting requests for directions to cemeteries. I really appreciate the efforts of everyone to get these online as soon as possible. I've had several emails from folks that have visited certain cemeteries, & they say thanks to your web site directions, they have found what they were looking for or have ruled out a certain cemetery. Many, many Texas-sized thanks go all you "kids" for your help on this endeavor! Our next cemeteries are: 1) Bay Creek Missionary Baptist Cemetery 2) Bethany Church Cemetery--(Black) 3) Blasingame Cemetery 4) Bold Springs Baptist Cemetery 5) Bold Springs United Methodist Cemetery 6) Boss-Livesey Cemetery If you can fill ANY info, please do so. Again, I appreciate your help, & so do many others! Love ya, Momma Walton <>< PS Census voting is going well--have you cast yours? Can you make a donation? ----------- I really would MUCH prefer to not give these tidbits piecemeal, but wait until our locator project is over, and give one and all "the whole nine yards". So, I will opt out on further piecemeal replies unless someone plans to visit the County and wants specifics for a specific, if you follow me. Will be happy to give those individually. Walter

    3. I have written in beside Mama Walton's queries below a bit of info on these cemeteries. I really would MUCH prefer to not give these tidbits piecemeal, but wait until our locator project is over, and give one and all "the whole nine yards". So, I will opt out on further piecemeal replies unless someone plans to visit the County and wants specifics for a specific, if you follow me. Will be happy to give those individually. 1. [GAWALTON] possible virus infections
    2. Lynn & Reita Caraway
    3. This morning I downloaded messages from our ISP and my virus software detected a virus. I was not able to determine which message contained the virus, but all of you were among the senders. The virus was a trojan horse - the 'w script kak' worm virus which was first detected in Nov 99. It is one of those which propagate thru Outlook so folks who don't use Outlook (we don't) most likely will not be affected by it, but it could be passed on to others anyway. If you are not using anti-virus software, I hope you start. I recommend Norton Anti-Virus, it's the best available, but like any of them, it isn't worth a toot unless you keep it updated - WEEKLY!!!!

    1. [GAWALTON] 15 VOTES
    2. Bettie Wood
    3. Hi all, To date we have 15 votes---14 yes, 1 no, until they have more information. There are 2 other places, besides S-K Publications, that does the census images online, but those you have to get permission each purchase to put them online. S-K does theirs automatically. Another advantage is they have always answered my questions within 24 hours. None of the others have answered anything at all. Transcriptions can & will be made from the images online by us (or if necessary, by me!) The 1850 census has been assigned for transcriptiions, the 1870 is done, but needs a proofreader (unless one has been found) I'm planning on doing the 1840, but not sure if I'm going to do it from online images, or my own supplies. I ordered the 1820 census image today, on behalf of the Gen-Kids--my treat! My understanding is that it'll be about 2 months before it's online. I'm still looking into getting some businesses to donate for some years. Wish me luck. If you have any ideas as to who to ask, let me know, or ask them yourself. If they have any questions, give them my email address. I'll post my address before long, as soon as we get a few more votes--we're half way there. Thanks all, Momma Walton <><

    1. [GAWALTON] CENSUS CHAT
    2. Bettie Wood
    3. Hi all, I have 8 yes votes, with 8 buyers, & 1 no vote (until more is learned). Let me try to clarify our project some more. The USGENWEB project will get the CD to put online. They have all the copyright permission, etc. for this project. We can transcribe the census from online, OR we can buy film, or CD, or whatever we want. If you want a CD of your own, you can sign up on the wait list at http://www.skpub.com/genie/censuscd/ga.html or write to: genie@skpub.com What we are voting on is whether to go forward with this project. The votes that came in to me were 100% for me to collect the monies, & when I get enough for 1 census, then I'll buy it (for the whole group), & USGENWEB puts it online. In order to start the project, I'm trying to get at least 35 folks to vote yes for it, & at least 25 that say they will donate to it. If we go as a group, some can donate $1, $5, $100, or whatever they feel they can spare. That's why I say, WHEN we have enough for one census, I'll buy one, enough for another, then I'll buy another year, & so on. If we go on the wait list, the minimum is $20. When the voting is over, I'll post my address if needed. Does this help any? Or am I confusing some more, as usual? Thank you for voicing your questions/concerns? Any more? Love, Momma Walton <><
