    1. [GAWALTON] prayer concern update and request
    2. Jennifer Sherwood Braswell
    3. Please folks...pray as soon you receive this for my my friend and her custody battle for her daughter... Her husband who has abused both her and her daughter is seeking full custody of the 10 year old daughter!!! He has visitation rights already...the daughter is being forced to visit him regularly and she is frightened to death to go each time. On April 13th, she testified to the judge and other officials in a private session as what exactly had been done to her. The judge was well satisfied with the consistency of her testimony and asked why the reports from the psychologist's interviews, etc., had not been brought to light... no one had bothered... on April 21, Judge ordered the guardian-ad-litem to get them and have them in judge's office on April 25...she turned them in on April 28th...meaning that the daughter had to spend still another weekend with the father. My friend's lawyer is filing an objection(?) to these certain circumstances, or whatever she needs to do to protest the lack of concern from the guardian-ad-litem who has obviously neglected her duties to protect and speak out for the child. Also, my friend's family is not showing any signs of support in this issue...not even her brother who is a minister and lives in the county where the trial is being held...he has not even responded to a request to help her find a lawyer. PLEASE PRAY SPECIFICALLY THAT THE TRUTH BE SOUGHT, TOLD, HEARD, AND HEEDED... BY THOSE WHO MAKE THE DECISIONS...AND ALL WILL BE DONE TO GIVE THESE PRECIOUS TWO CHILDREN OF GOD A TESTIMONY THAT WILL GLORIFY HIS NAME. JenKid jensgen@iol10.com

    1. [GAWALTON] prayer concern
    2. Jennifer Sherwood Braswell
    3. News update... talked to friend myself last night... She told me that daughter had to visit with father this past weekend... seems the "guardian ad litem" (g-a-l) is not doing her job and has not gotten the papers from child's sessions with therapists, etc. Judge ordered her to so...and she waited until last minute to do it. Room was noisy, but it seems that my friend was telling me that it appears that those in the hearing with child believed her testimony, and if the g-a-l would perform her function properly, this could have been over some time ago. Please continue to pray for trial participants and truth... Also, continue in prayer for couple in Florida facing child abuse charges. Pray for truth to be sought and seen by caseworker, D.A., etc. I wonder how they would feel if they were in this couple's shoes? Jennifer Sherwood Braswell jensgen@iol10.com

    3. Hi Walton Researchers, I am looking for more information on my gr-gr-grandfather, Williford (Willoford) J. Westmoreland. *I found him in the 1880 Gwinnett County census but it gives Williford's name as Wm. I have read that census takers used the initials Wm. for anyone with a name beginning with W. *I haven't been able to find them in the 1900 or 1910 census. *In the 1920 Walton County, Georgia census, he was listed as Willoford Westmoreland. Below is what information I do have. Williford Westmoreland b. __1858 Athens, Clarke Co., Georgia d. ___ Walton Co., Georgia married, 1877 Gwinnett Co., Ga. 1. [GAWALTON] Young, etc. Roll Call
    2. Mary Ellen Dickerson
    3. Hello, Walton Gen Kids!! I am Mary Ellen Dickerson, living about 10 miles east of Shreveport, LA, tornado alley. There have been about 25 tornadoes in my area in the past 12 months. This has a way of keeping one's mind off genealogy!! However, in my more sane moments, I continue to look for the family of my great-grandfather, James Harrison Young. He died in 1916; buried at Alcovy Mountain Cemetery in Social Circle. He was the son of Moses W. Young, Jr. and wife Mary Edmonds/Edmondson. I have seen this name written both ways on the same legal documents. Moses, Jr. was the son of Moses Young, Sr. and wife, Polly Fain/Fair. I have seen two Georgia marriage books and one said "Fain" and the other said "Fair." I recently obtained a will left by James Young, 1837 in Oglethorpe Co. and I really believe that this is man is my James' great-grandfather. Of course, that has not been proven. Chilren of James Young (died 1837) include the following: James Young, Jr. Henry Young, married Jan. 2, 1812 to Polly Ward Thomas Young, married Feb. 15, 1811 to Jane Gesham Wootson (Woodson), born Nov. 29, 1782; married Jan. 9, 1811 to Keziah Minor Elizabeth Young, married to __________? Landrum Dorcas Young, married Jan. 31, 1806 to John Huey Anna Young, married Jan. 28, 1808 to James Landrum Susannah Young, married Jan. 22, 1818 to James Lanier Moses Young, Sr. was the father of the following: Annie Young, born ca. 1805 Elizabeth Young, born ca. 1806; married Oct. 25, 1824 to Richard Downs Mary T. Young, born ca 1812, married Robert Harris Moses W. Young, Jr. (my ancestor) married Mary Edmonds/Edmondson Margaret, born ca 1826. No further information Moses Young, Jr. was the father of the following: James Harrison Young (my ancestor) born Aug. 19, 1840, Morgan Co., GA, married Mary Frances Greer; died Feb 21, 1916. Elijah D. Young, born Jan. 10, 1842; died Dec. 2, 1866; married Mary Ann Farmer Sarah L. Young, born July 10, 1843; died ca. 1930 Margret Young, born ca. 1845 William Taylor "Bill" Young, born Aug. 30, 1848; died April 30, 1926; married Oct. 4, 1890 to Dora Mahalie Hawk Mary E. Young, born Sept. 7, 1850; married Aug. 8, 1875 to Kiah Burson Joseph Walton Young, born July 4, 1852; died ca. 1937; married Oct. 18, 1874 to Susan Zilimiah Daniel Robert Harris Young, born Aug. 20, 1855 Edmund Young, born Jan. 7, 1858; died Jan. 13, 1932; married Dec. 21, 1885 to Hester Elizabeth Simons Susan E. Young, born Mar. 9, 1860; married May 24, 1891 to William Adams Charley Young -- no further information I apologize for the length of this. I may be facing surgery in a few days; if so, I will not be able to post another 'letter of the alphabet.' Thank you for your time. This is a great list!! I've been to several in Texas, Alabama and Mississippi and this is, by far, the best!!! Mary Ellen Dickerson JoMar95@shreve.net

    3. Hi all, Just wanted to remind ya'll of our backward ABC roll call. Sorry this is late, but had a very late night last night. We took my granddaughter to the emergency room, they thought she had meningitis, & did a spinal tap. It was negative, so they couldn't find anything else. Today we took her to the doctor & she has a severe sinus infection. I've been rather "HOT" today, but nothing I can do now. Anyway, if you a surname starting with X, Y, or Z, tell us about it. Post your query here, then you can also post to our GenConnect boards http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Walton If you have your surname in our "Surnames of Interest" section you may want to post there, too--there should be a GenConnect board for your surname there. Have great week folks! Thank you for your love--Love ya'll too. Momma Walton <><

On Thurs., April 27, we will go with letter W, Friday will be for letters U &V, & so on. Any questions, please ask! You're not gonna believe this, but we have another Dot amongst us!! Soon we will have to change the list name to DOT-L@rootsweb!!haha Also, someone is expecting their first grandchild in about 6 weeks or so, & another is due in July. He said it was their first in DECADES--how old is he??? All are doing fine--moms-to-be & grandfolks to be! I'm still "hankering" for my second one, but God is so good anyway.(awesome actually!) As for the remodelling, all is done. I still need to clean, arrange, etc. this one last room--my computer room. I work a little, then play a little! ha Eventually, we can start on the outside--paint, flower beds, etc. I hope ya'll had a very sweet, blessed Easter! Love, Momma Walton <>< He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6

    3. I'm trying to locate the ancestors of Jesse Kittley/Kitley and Sarah B. Hopson, married in Walton Co. GA on August 04, 1827. While there were Hopson's in the area then, we're not sure who her parents were, and there is no trace of any Kitley/Kittley's, though the family legend is that Jesse was born in GA. If anyone has any ideas for how to track these people down, I'd love to hear it. 3. Hi gang, I'm back online, but don't know how much I'll be on here tomorrow, or Sunday. Most of our remodelling is done, now getting everything back in order is another matter! When this gets done, we'll have to start a fun little project. What do ya'll want to do? A backward's ABC roll call, since we seem to neglect our last letters???? I hope to get to your emails this coming up week, but no promises. Also Jennifer sent the email below to update us all on our prayers, but think she's having some ISP troubles???
