Momma Walton has been at it again. The New look for our Walton County web site makes me want to shout, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope that all of our researchers (including me) has a safe and happy one. Keep up the good work Momma. Dot Sorrells Cox
Please make a note that my address is now nana321@txucom.net It's the same ISP & I still receive mail at the "old address" nana321@tucomm.net BUT I don't know how long they will continue to do this! Also, rememeber to post your queries, etc. to the GenConnect Boards. These can be found b going to Our web site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gawalton/ I now maintain all the boards!! More later, as I'm still "babysitting", & trying to work on the cemetery pages. Love to all, Momma Walton <><
Hi kiddoes, I recently discovered a site "dedicated to books and research materials for those interested in researching their ancestors in the State of Georgia." This is a free service that lists authors/authoressess?, Genealogical Organizations, etc. for different counties in Georgia--BUT Our Walton is not listed! This is a good opportunity for some of Our newest authors to spread the word about your published materials that are for sale! The rest of us should take a look as soon as we get the chance at: http://www.gagenbooks.com/ I'm listing this in Our "For Sale" section on Our web site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gawalton/ Also, I have been working on our cemetery pages, & almost ready for uploading. I think I've got all the cemeteries listed on the main page. I'll send more on that later--today maybe??? This is some of what Judy (from the GA Book site) wrote to me: >>>From: Judy Dasher <jdasher@planttel.net> We would be happy for you to link Georgia Genealogy Books to your Walton County Genweb page. I wrote asking about the possibility a while back, but I think someone else was maintaining the site at that time. We would also be happy to include your authors on our site as well. We just need book title, a brief description, price, shipping & handling, etc., address for ordering and an e-mail address, if they have one, for on-line correspondence. Just let us know and we'll get them on!<<< Thanks go out in a BIG Texas size way to Tricia! Ya'll be sure & thank her too! She has been sending some of my old emails, & has some sore little fingers!! haha Thanks again, gal! I'm so thankful for all my lifesavers in the family!!!!! I hope all of you had as sweet a Christmas as we did!!?? I just want to thank you all for those sweet Christmas cards!! Ya'll are the absolute best!! Now, wrap your arms around yourself & give a squeeze--that'll be a long-distance hug from me!! Love you all, Momma Walton <>< PS Did anyone else (ladies) get snow tires for Christmas??

Hi Dorothy, Your tree sounds much like mine (rogues, nuts and all). Dont let Momma fool ya. She's old enuff. Ha ha! Merry Christmas to you and yours. Dot Sorrells Cox
Hi all, This is mostly for the latest members, & the "forgetful" folks on the list!! Our cemetery project--if you know what cemetery your ancestor is buried in, let me know. If you just know that they are buried in Walton Co., let me know! If you have directions to a certain cemetery, let me know; if you have a better map to a cemetery, let me know; if I don't have a cemetery listed, let me know. Any kind of cemetery info that you have, want, or need, please let me know. Ida is going to keep us all up-to-date on current cemetery "happenings" & anything else that she wants to throw in--maybe some history?? trivia?? who knows?? As time goes on, I'll be going through each section of Our web site, updating in this same type manner, & hopefully getting more ideas for the site. After the first of the year, we'll again be discussing Our census project, & will probably take a vote again (since I lost everything last time) This time I'll make sure everything is printed out on this!! As always, if you have any questions, PLEASE ask! You ca either ask the list family OR write me. I always at least try & answer a question, & if I don't know the answer, I ask Dot (since she's sooooo much older) Love to all, Momma Walton <>< Lindsey & I had a tea party today (my first)! She was the "cooker", so guess what my kitchen looks like!! haha
> Your tree sounds much like mine (rogues, nuts and all). What do you mean SOUNDS like yours??? I thought it WAS yours!!! > Dont let Momma fool ya. She's old enuff. Ha ha! Listen to you --calling the kettle black! I might be Momma Walton, but your Granny Walton! We might have to start calling Tonya something too, as she just had a birthday on the 17th! I so rudely forgot, since my halfzeimer's was acting up again! Were/are there any more birthdays this month? I mean, besides Jesus'! > Merry Christmas to you and yours. Right back at ya, sweetie! Love to all, Momma Walton <>< > > > Dot Sorrells Cox

> <snip>i found some current & not...ancestors since we last "spoke" but need to > know if clegg cemetery out of business & if so; > it's full or bankrupt or abandoned? can't find it in current data > bases..worried <snip> There is a Clegg Cemetery in the Walton County Historical Society book "In Rememberence". A cemetery of the same name is on the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) map of Walton County. They probably are identical. As our survey of Walton cemeteries progresses during the coming months it is our hope to post listings and comments to GAWALTON@rootsweb.com. Walter

> Is there some way the URL for the Walton page to be included in the emails? Yes, there is--I just always forget about doing it!! http://www.rootsweb.com/~gawalton/ > I can't seem to keep up with it, and I keep finding the one Lisa Little runs > at the GaGenWeb .. I don't know how long "hers" will be on there. One day Ours is supposed to take it's place. At any rate, hers is listed on Our site too, as ("Old site") > which is fine.. but I want it ALL!!!!!!!!!! LOL Don't we all?? haha When are we going to get your info to enter on Our site? Is the only surname you have TUCKER? Now off to bed for me--"nite, nite!" Momma Walton <><
Hi kiddoes, I guess the subject line doesn't sound too "politically correct", does it? haha Well, for those that know how late I'm normally up, I'm fixing to go to bed, cause I'm extremely pooped. Kids are out of school this week, so I've got Lindsey! I know she's only 4, BUT where do they get that energy???? I want to go there!!!!! Anyone want to go with me? haha--I love every minute, though. Our cemetery project has kind of dwindled some, but that's ok! We'll get busy next year, RIGHT?? There's been several new "Gen-brothers & sisters" joining the family, & we all say welcome! We'll fill you in on our project, but later, as I really have to go to bed. If I "forget", as I sometimes (most times) do, remind me, or maybe some others will go ahead & fill you in now??? May you each have a Blessed Christmas Season, & may ALL your gifts (given & received) be wrapped in His love, Momma Walton <>< "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21
Is there some way the URL for the Walton page to be included in the emails? I can't seem to keep up with it, and I keep finding the one Lisa Little runs at the GaGenWeb .. which is fine.. but I want it ALL!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Hi Walton researchers, I just got this URL from another list group. I've checked it out and found some of my ancestors. I thought you all might like to see it. Momma Walton might want to use this one on our site. http://www.sierra.com/sierrahome/familytree/records/w1812/list I'm hoping you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Dot Sorrells Cox
abt higginbothams of ga...i need info on a higginbotham who married my widowed grandma"fannie hunt" probably in ga in the 30s or 1940s...maybe had initials E.D.

Hi kids! Just thinking of Christmas, & sending a reminder... My address is hahaha Anyway, remember there will be a lot of folks getting puters for Christmas, & will be new to the internet & maybe (hopefully) us! I know you'll be kind, as always, but put out reminders to others to have patience, as we all were there once (& some of us still are--ahem!!) Also, I've decorated for Christmas, somewhat, so let me know what you think http://www.rootsweb.com/~gawalton/ Also, made a few updates. I haven't uploaded any cemetery info yet, even though I lied on Our web page & said it was updated. Hopefully tonight, so I won't be a liar afterall!! Thes sections that have been updated are Coming Soon, For Sale, Gen-Kids Pages, Neighboring Counties, Surnames, & Walton County Families. See if you can spot the updates & find the errors that will probably be there. Oh well, I'm just a Momma, not perfect... Thank you all so much for your uplifting prayers & precious thoughts of love--& right back at ya!! Love & Rainbows to all, Momma Walton <>< "He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you shall find refuge" Psalms 91:4 (Refuge--His truth shall be thy shield & buckler)
