Thanks for your reply , Janet, I am the one who submitted the information printed about WOODS and their FREEMAN kin that appears in the Walker County 1883-1983 History with a picture of two. So you know I'm an elderly researcher for sure. <Grin> If you think you have any connection to the WOODS of my line, please let me know. The family that stayed in Georgia have mostly used WOOD and so they often think we cannot be kinfolk. But I have found much since 1983 and documented all I could with limited means to travel for research. I have never been to Georgia, or South Carolina where my earliest known generation of WOODS family lived. I still hope to be able to visit sometime to do research. The William James WOODS (or WOOD) who was a brother to my Nathan Richmond WOODS migrated to Cross County, Arkansas and lived there the rest of his life, leaving lots of descendants. Most of the ones I have known personally are long gone, but I'll be glad to share what I know about them, and you can still find WOOD/WOODS descendants in Cross County, Arkansas --- at least I believe so.
