Carole, I don't think he died in the Civil War, Catoosa Co. GA Cemeteries and Genealogy has John and Louisa buried in Anderson Cemetery in Catoosa Co. GA, They have a death date for John R. as between 1880 and 1890, they have a John Bryan b ca.1844, who is the right age to be the John W., son of John R. and Louisa, was the John in the Civil War, Co. K, 12th GA Calvary CSA and is also buried in Anderson Cem. No death dates on any of the markers. He is in the 1870 Census of Catoosa Co. GA, do not think he died in the war either. Hester (dtr.) and James Newton Bird, are also buried there. The 1880 Census lists the family as Bryant's, the Cemetery Book follows the Bryan spelling. Sherry 1850 Walker Co.
