    3. Hello Becky, Would you be able to do a lookup on any one that might be in the Powell Cemetery, on hwy. 136 and 157 on the East side of Lookout Mountain. These Powells lived in that area for a long time. I think Lewis R. Powell came to Walker Co. between 1840 and 1850 and died there about 1865-1870. His son Green Oliver Powell is supposed to be buried there too along with his wife which was a Cherokee, her name was Martha Stewart. There are at least 30 graves there. If you need more info, please let me know. Some of Lewis R. Powells Children were, Pressly Powell, Lewis R. Powell Jr., Keziah, Ambrose, Monia or Morning, Lewis Ervin Powell, Newton Powell, Sevier Powell, Upson Powell and Nancy, and another female. All these children except 3 or 4 were born in Hall Co. Ga. from 1819 to about 1845. By the way, the Powell Cemetery is listed on the Old George Massey Farm on Hwy. 136, but is behind the Husky property on hwy 157. Thank you in advance. 3. Pat, I looked at the Powell Cemetery and the following is what was stated in the book. ********************** Powell Cemetery Highway 136 west to top of mountain, cross Highway 157, go to first house on right (Frank Massey farm). This cemetery is on the old Massey Place. Green O. Powell who was married to an Indian or half-Indian, is buried there. Possibly his wife and also about 30 other graves. There are no stone markings, just rocks. ********************** Which is basically what you just told me. So, since there is only rocks you will never know who all is buried there. SORRY !!
