I was aware of the errors in the beginning of my gr-grandfather's information. Apparently he did some of this from RESEARCH & some from memory. The research materials in his time were not as good as the wonders we have now, as you are well aware. I've sent Pat the portion mentioning the Powells. At this time, I really don't have more information about the Powells, but my cousin Kim lives in the Cove & I've asked her to see if she can find information for Pat. I'm curious... where did you get my great-grandfather's journal? It couldn't have been from me, because I took out the inaccuracies before I typed it up. I didn't think ANYBODY had that but me & my cousin Jackie. She has the original, & she made me a copy of that. I took her typed copy & did some research, then took out the section that was completely wrong. I did leave MINOR errors such as.. the family moved here from Lee county.. and maybe it was Scott Co.. just things like that... just because it's how he w! ro! te it. I also corrected ONE nam e (first name), and I put in a few dates in italics.. also corrected some spelling for clarity in reading. Anyway... I did keep the original in my notes, but I MADE a note to say that I didn't believe it was correct, due to records that show otherwise. I've already told Pat about the little bit that was incorrect. Anyway... let me know where you got your copy, ... it IS the one that begins with William coming from England, correct?? Well, I have to go.. will be back in touch... Sheila :)
