I said the Chattanooga Library charges $11.00 for the first death certificate... I should have said they charge $11.00 for the first obituary. They would probably treat a death certificate the same as an obit but it would be best to ask them first. Hamilton County TN Genealogical Society... obits, too. Delta will do either... a TN death certificate (1908-1950 except 1914) or an obit. Georgia death certificates are handled differently. We do have a GA death certificate index from 1919 through 1993 available. However, the cost for a GA death certificate is $10.00... that's what the state says has to be charged. Sue
