Bill, you're doing a great job with the Walker County web site but I sure as heck hope people do not try to follow some of the driving instructions to the cemeteries that are posted. They will be driving forever, taking a scenic tour of the county. I only looked at a few of them so I can't speak for all of them. Also, you have Payne Chapel and Payne Chapel (Hooker) listed. There is a Payne Chapel on Lookout Mountain (one I did check) but there is not one in Hooker. Hooker is in Dade County and not on Lookout Mountain. And, there is only one Payne Chapel here on Lookout. I was also surprised on the transcriptions for some of them... Payne Chapel is a fairly good size cemetery but only a few tombstones are transcribed. The same for New Lookout Cemetery. Between my husband and me, we have family buried in most of the ones here on Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga Valley (including both New and Old Lookout), McLemore Cove area, Humphrey Cemetery, Tn/GA, and Peavine to name a few.
