The Chattanooga Library charges $11.00 for the first death certificate if ordered via mail. They do not take online request. The Chattanooga Hamilton County TN Genealogical Society (an online society only) charges $5.00 per request. The Delta Genealogical Society also charges $5.00 per request. Request from Delta can be done either online or by writing Delta Genealogical Genealogical Society, 504 McFarland Ave., Rossville, GA 30741. Their web site is www.rootsweb.com/~gadgs Delta also takes request for obits from The Walker County Messenger and The Open Door which was an old Rossville newspaper from sometimes in the 1930's (I think) to 1950's or 60's. I don't remember the exact dates of publication for them but can check if anyone is interested the next time I'm in the Rossville Library. The Walker County Messenger obits run from 1880 to present but none have been posted online. Sue
