    3. Ken, I would be interested in this also. I am a Jay descendant and researcher. Jay's Mill (owned by Jesse Jay), a steam powered sawmill, was where the battle started. It is near Reed's Bridge. Jesse Jay's niece Mariah (Moriah) Jay (1831-1913) was married to Edward Fowler (1821-1880) and they lived in the area. You might want to contact Jemima Reed Shirley who lives in Ringgold, GA. She is a descendant of both Jesse Jay AND the Reeds (of Reed Bridge fame) and knew the Fowlers growing up. Jemima is still an active researcher and involved with the Catoosa Historical group. She still owns a good deal of property in the area and took me on a tour of the battleground last year......detailing who owned what land and where. She has a good memory on the land ownership/location issues. There are also land deeds in Catoosa Co. involving the Jays and Fowlers for property in this area. Email me directly and I will give you Jemima's email address.
