Always willing to help, but be careful about the records part. At least in my case. A few years back we hit a dead end with my great grandfather Carl Gilreath. Finally about 6 months after posting on a web site I got an email from Charlotte in Rossville that read, I think my grandfather was your great grandfathers brother. Away we went searching and finally came up with documentation to prove it. we finally discovered that Carl was buried in the same cemetery as his brother. (tenn/geo memorial) But nothing matched the records. But with Charlotte living right there, she went to the cemetery and found the stones. All the information on the stone was correct, the info in the office was wrong (date of death, name spelled wrong etc). We have since had them correct it. we live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and last summer took our vacation to North Georgia where we met with Charlotte's side of the Gilreath family tree and were able to connect into previous research of the main Gilreath tree. That one piece of erroneous information kept us off the main tree. we toured the cemetery (beautiful place) and took photo's of the old stones. To make a long story short, don't give up and if you find errors, work to have them corrected. our roots in Walker county and Chattooga county are now established and it was fun to tour the area last summer. I recently purchased the book on the history of Chattooga county and discovered my great great great great grandfather James H Gilreath was one of the first to settle in the new county. I'm still seeking information on the Ivey side. Carl married Bertha Ivey in 1913 in walker county and her father was a Frank Ivey. any info on this line would be great. thanks for all the help and info you people provide!
