Sue, Thanks for checking.. I appreciate it very much... I think the M. probably stood for Matthew. I'm not 100 percent sure, but there were several Matthew's in the family.. Once again, thanks so much!! Ps. It could have been Mitchell also.. I found my ggrandfather's Cherokee Application, and it gave lot's of info on the family. My ggrandfather's name was Joseph Pryor, his father was A.M. Pryor, ( which stood for Alexander Mitchell). And his father was Paul M. Prior. Kim
I have noticed on both lists that a lot of the family members had 3 first names, as we now have 2 - was there a reason for that? delilah evans At 00:40 3/17/01 EST, you wrote: >Sue, >Thanks for checking.. Kim, I thought if the "M" stood for Mischer (that's mis-spelled) he is buried in an unmarked grave in Dade Co next to his mother whose grave is marked. He died ca 1944 (I don't remember the exact date but have it). I have his obit and there should be a death certificate on file. There are several Pryors buried in this cemetery. This Alexander Mischer Pryor's mother married Thomas LeCroy after the death of her husband who I think was named Paul.
