I am still trying to locate anyone who has come across a SMITH Family who might have a son by the name of James M or Middleton SMITH, and possible a second son by the name of Littleton SMITH in TN, GA. I have not given up, but after 6 years and not a single clue, I am beginning to wonder if I will ever find the parents of James M. SMITH, b. 1809 in TN, most likely in the Walker Co., GA area, but there is no proof of this. He was living in Hamilton Co., TN in 1830 married, no children in the household. Next to him was a Charles SMITH age 50 to 59 -- father????. By 1850 James. M. SMITH is living in Lookout Mountain in Walker Co., GA with his wife Susan (WALLEN) and children, William, Sally, Mary, Priscilla, Campbell, Nancy, Caroline Catherine, Martha, Tennessee. By 1860 this family is in Randolph Co., AR, A little after the 1860 Census Susan must have died, maybe in childbirth to a son Henry, because James M. is now going by Middleton and is married to Mary C. possibly MORRIS and a child Henry is in the family right age for the first marriage and a second son Gilphy SMITH, most likely child of second marriage. Any suggestions or clues would be most appreciated. Kathleen Burnett
Merry Christmas, Kathleen. Have a safe, healthy and happy holiday. Paula Franklin

Dear List Members, It is that time of year again when we suddenly will have an influx of new online genealogy enthusiasts with their holiday gift computers that are usually newer and faster than what many of the rest of us have. For a great many of them, it will be their first time online. Some of them will make mistakes and some may (will) unintentionally do things and write things that may be irritating to us and against what we have set up as our list rules. Please take this into consideration in advance and be helpful to them. If things get out of hand, know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problems. Just remember, one of these new members might hold the clue you have been searching for. Let us not discourage them before they have a chance to learn how this works. I would like also to take this time to wish each of you and yours a wonderful and safe Holiday Season. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
I can not wait to see all this . thanks, Janet BossMann
Just to let everyone know I have not forgot my promise to post about the Hollingsworth book on the coal miner - my computer drive will not save and since I like to save what I post, soon as I can get it repaired I will be back posting. Hope all has Happy Holidays. delilah evans

Helen, June's e-mail address is Jjgriffth@aol.com There are two "j" at the beginning instead of one. See if that will work. If not, e-mail me privately and I'll give you her telephone number. My Granny tells the story and two of her children remember their great grand dad crowned in the war. Subsequently I believe the family was living in Murray Co. I have the Murray Co Heritage book and much is spoiken of John Martin, but I cannot find the link to tie him to the families I have . Is there any data in the Walker Co Papers concerning this. This will only work with some viruses and some email programs. This method was mailed to several list the last big outbreak and some viruses are smart enough to pick a start other than the beginning or end and some don't organize the list the same way. Other mail programs won't let you add an invalid address like the one in the message. Best thing is still good antiviral software and caution in what you open. The one I am using is freeware from the address in the certification stamp below. I started using it after many users on the NYC list which I also subscribe to started using it Better safe than sorry Bill ----- Original Message ----- From: diamond6468@mindspring.com To: GAWALKER-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, November 30, 2001 1:42 PM Subject: Re: [GAWALKER] From List Mom - How to Unsubscribe I would like to claim the idea but it was sent to me - and also I see an error - the address shold read !000@wormalert - sorry bad typing - delilah At 11:53 11/30/01 EST, you wrote: >In a message dated 11/30/01 7:08:25 AM Pacific Standard Time, >diamond6468@mindspring.com writes: > ><< what you think of this? if your mailbox is listed in alphabetical order, > for the name/alias put, !000 then for address put, !000!wormalert - > since this is an invalid address, if it goes thru your mailbox, it will > stop at the first one as it is an erroneous address and cannot go thru the > rest of your book - let me know if it works - this should show up as the > first address in your book- > deliah evans >> > >What an excellent Idea! >Loretta > > >==== GAWALKER Mailing List ==== >NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political >announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, >etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. >Consideration for exceptions, contact Kathleen Burnett kathleenburnett@earthlink.net >To learn more about my world visit http://dwp.bigplanet.com/kburnett > > > ==== GAWALKER Mailing List ==== Checkout the other lists being watched over by your List Mom; http://mailing_lists.homestead.com/lists.html To learn more about my world visit http://dwp.bigplanet.com/kburnett --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
