Right inside the book it says: copies may be ordered from: Robert S Baker 10617 Thrasher Road Jonesboro, Ga 30238 for a cost of $46.80 includes taxes shipping and handling this is how I got mine. Its a hard cover book over 2 inches thick, 1200 pages packed with fantastic information. Well worth the money and I recommend it to anyone interested in Chattooga county. It lists people, places, post offices, churches, settlements etc. Bob At 06:13 PM 11/6/2002 -0500, you wrote: >You might try the Chattanooga County Historical Society or go to their >usgenweb site for more information. > >Sue > >On Wed, 6 Nov 2002 17:41:23 EST FCooper496@aol.com wrote:

As another lister wrote, this reunion is a great excuse to visit Walker County and so some research. My DAVIS and RHODES ancestors were in Walker County. Is there anyone else on this list who is descended from Madison & Miriam RHODES ( in Walker Co c. 1840s thru 1870s) and Jonathan & Nancy Kirksey DAVIS (moved to Walker Co c. 1835, he died 1857 in Walker Co?). Will I have to represent them all by myself?? I'd love to meet some cousins. Donna Warlick Tallahassee, FL

I am searaching for some Vaughn men who were from that area in 1930. I imagine they still have descendants living there now. Their names were Edward A Vaughn died in 1967 wife was bertha (would love to know who she was). lso there was a George Garfield Vaughn died in 1980 wife Glennie and finally there was a Woodrow W who died in 1992. If there is anyone who has Vaughn connections in these areas who is on this list I would love to know if these names are familiar? Thanks These men were all born in WV. Pat in Florida

I have sent the information about the possible reunion of Walker Co descendents to the Scott/Logan County Arkansas lists I have had at least six responses--all positive.
Please keep me informed on when this will be and where. I live in Oklahoma and my great-grandfather John P. Angelly lived in Walker County during the Civil War and worked for a Mr. A.I. Leech at a tannery just south of Lookout Mtn. We cannot find where he died and is buried but his wife shows up in Jackson co. Alabama in 1870's where she married again. I would love to have an excuse to come to Walker County and do some research. Maybe this could be it. Any way please keep the list informed on all information. Thanks. LaWanda Lathrum Young
Thanks for all the responses........I knew I could count on my fellow listees! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GOOD OLE SOUTHERN FAMILY REUNION! BUT......Looks as if I will be out of pocket for a few weeks......my house that I have been trying to sell since February, finally will sell and that means I have to pack and move by December 5th! However, I am requestin (as we say in the South!) that everyone, please take this email......cut and paste your name and email address and phone number where I can reach you on a weekend and send it back to me so I can print and place in the reunion file I have started. That way I will hopefully not leave anyone out when it comes time to announce all concrete plans. I am getting very excited about this reunion and hope that everyone will bring family, photos, family trees, and yourself! I have also contacted a publishing company that prints cookbooks and thought it would be fun to gather favorite family recipes at the Reunion and have them published. The proceeds can be donated to the Historical Society to keep our favorite passion alive and well! So ask Grandma, Grandpa or that Great Aunt for that favorite Southern recipe that may have been handed down! All the members that want to meet for the planning.....please bare with me through my move! More soon! Linda Sue
UCDALE1963 Can you tell me more about your wife's family? My Grandmother was Mary Wallin Hollingsworth and her mother was Dora Melinda Parrish. Sounds as if your wife may be very closely related to me........... Linda Sue
my wife is descended from the Wallins, Parrish's and Wests. She has a great aunt who was a Hollingsworth. We are interested in the project you are working on. Please keep us posted as plans progress. Thanks. My wife's grandmother's maiden name was Wallin, and her great grandmother was a Parrish.
Count me in, for whatever I can do - also maybe if you have something that is from that area, maybe we could bring them and share, photos, news, things like that. delilah evans At 12:14 11/3/02 EST, you wrote: >Hi Everyone! > >I wanted to see who would be interested in helping with a Reunion of all >descendants of Walker County, GA Families. >I am needing volunteers to help with all aspects of this reunion. >Doug Madaris and myself would like to hold a meeting as soon as possible of >all the volunteers that live in the area so email me if you can help. >If you do not live in Walker County Area, you can still help by gathering >names and addresses of your family members that would be interested in >attending.
