    3. Hi, The Walker co. Family I am looking for information about is Cleckler/Clackler. They moved into Whitfield co. after 1900's. Walker co. makes it so convenient with their some of their records posted on their site. Jacob and Edna Cleckler are on the 1880 mortality schedule for Walker co. If anyone else runs across the name remember me! When you have dates for a reunion I'll contact my relatives in Dalton. Thanks Jeanette Hutton

    1. [GAWALKER] James Middleton Smith b. about 1809
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. I notice there has been a lot of new members subscribing lately so felt it was time again to send my my query on James Middleton Smith b. about 1809 in GA or TN. Married Susan Wallen before 1830 in Hamilton Co., TN. was living in Walker Co., GA in 1850, migrated to Randolph Co., AR before 1860. The children of James Middleton and Susan were: William b. 1830, Sally b. 1832, Mary b. 1834, Priscilla b. 1934, Campbell b. 1839, Nancy b. 1840, Caroline Catherine b. 1841, Martha b. 1844, Tennessee b. 1848 and Henry b. about 1860 Susan Wallen died before Apr 1863 and in the 1870 Census James Middleton, now going by Middleton Smith is married Mary C. Morris. James Middleton Smith MIGHT be the son of a Charles Smith found in the 1830 Census of Hamilton Co., TN....there is no proof. Also the Littleton Smith who migrated from Walker Co., GA along with James Middleton Smith MIGHT be a brother. Again, no proof. If you know of this Smith line, I would love to hear from you. 2. Hello, My aunt married Doug Rhodes in Walker Co. His father was Charles Robert Rhodes, but I heard the Rhodes was Charles' mom's maiden name & he ended up with it for some reason. I don't know her name at all. But, when you mention Florida, it makes me wonder if there is a relation. My mom told me that Doug's brother Freddie Rhodes lived in Florida for a long time, also his family. Do those names ring a bell to you? My aunt is still living in Ft. Oglethorpe, just outside of Walker Co. Sheila
