Jr. - grandson - w/m/3 - born Ga, parents born Ga Effie S. (or L) grand daughter w/f/1 and 1/2 yrs - born Ga. Mary A. - grandaughter w/f/age under 1 -born Alabama, parents born Ga. Sure would like to know who the parents of these children were and what happened to them - they lived next door to a doctor named McGowan - the same district as Durham Rd - ------------------------------ On the 1900 Census for Walker County (Lookout Mt District) is this family: 262A- EVANS,William 39 Mary - 32 Willie B - 6 Clyde C. - 4 Bessie G. - 3 Boyed 10/12 Is this possible the same William Evans whose children later lived with their grandparents William Deal in 1910 - Can anyone help with this - would like to know what might of happened to the parents and the other children if it is the same family. delilah evans

The mine in as far I as know was called Slosses Ore Mine , there is still as site for this. They became the Slosses furnace Co. There was also the Pratt City Mines. I don't know if they were exactly in Bessemer , I know we could walk to a mine as a child. I'm sure you can get info from Pratt City. God Bless Wla
