    3. Cece, There were only five burial listed in the index for the surname BUNCH. Three of them were in Wood Station which is way north east of McLemore Cove and one at Center Post. The third name was listed in the old Clarkson Cemetery (a small family cemetery is the upper McLemore Cove area. THe name on the tombstone was Charles Clarkson, son of William W. Clarkson and Ege BUNCH Clarkson November 6, 1862 - July 27, 1864 1 yr and 8 mos old There are many unmarked graves in both Antioch and Old Antioch as well as all of the other cemeteries in the county. What are the first names on your BUNCH ancestors? In James A. Sartain HISTORY OF WALKER COUNTY GA there is a mention of J.M.; James; Jim; and W.C. There was no mention of either BENGE or TYGART in Sartain's book OR either of the Walker Co cemetery books. The Benge name was in early Dade County while Dade was still a part of Walker County. 3. Sheila, The index in the WALKER COUNTY GA CEMETERY, vol 1, which includes McLemore Cove is the pitts. However, a separate index was done several years ago and was sold by the historical society. That index is an every name index but still some people were omitted. Volume 2 has an every name index but for some reason or another the indexing program whoever used sometimes indexed the name surname first (as it should be) but the first name was reduced to an initial. Both books really need to be re-indexed. 2. Antioch Church Cemetery, Walker Co. Cem. #47 is on Crow Gap Road in Cedar Grove, GA. Headed toward Trenton, Ga. on hwy. 136, you'd make a left on Ga. Hwy 193. Turn rt. on Crow Gap Rd. From the map in the GA cemetery book, the cemetery will be on the right. I have family members buried there also. Your Joel Asbury Fowler is there. Here are the Fowler's buried together, page 167 in cemetery book: Fowler, J. A. September 8, 1823 January 2, 1894 Fowler, Sarah M. Wife of J. A. Fowler March 2, 1828 March 15, 1907 Fowler, Corrie September 6, 1874 March 10, 1902 Fowler, Joh M. April 12, 1870 August 2, 1945 Fowler, William B. April 5, 1866 - - Fowler, Martha I. 3. Karen, There is Old Anitoch and Anitoch. Both are located in McLemore Cove near the foot of Lookout Mountain. Let me know from where you will be traveling and I can give you directions. I have ancestors in both. There is a J.A. Fowler buried in Antioch Cemetery (not Old Antioch). The dates on his tombstone are Sept 8, 1823 - Jan 2, 1894. He is buried next to his wife, Sarah M. Fowler, Wife of J.A. Fowler, Mar 2, 1828 - Mar 15, 1907. Going down the row: Corrie Fowler, Sept 6, 1874 - March 10, 1902 John M. Fowler, April 12, 1870 - Aug 2, 1945 William B. Fowler, April 5, 1866 - [no date] Marha I. Fowler, Jun 19, 1878 - Dec 4, 1938 If you know where Highway 193 and Highway 136 (known as the LaFayette-Trenton Highway) intersect.. you will want to continue south on Highway 193 going into the Cove. A little ways after crossing the railroad track, (when 136 and 193 intersect the railroad runs across this intersection but I'm referring to the the second crossing) Hwy 193 will take a hard left turn, east. You will want to continue straight ahead on Cove Rd traveling parallel to Lookout Mountain. I've never checked the mileage, but you will travel several miles from this point south. Watch for Crow Gap Rd which will be on your right. Turn right onto Crow Gap Rd and follow it a short distance. You can't miss the church and cemetery which will be on the right side of Crow Gap Rd. The church is Antioch Baptist Church and Cemetery. 3. Karen, I don't know the area but there is an Old Antioch Cemetery on my map and it shows as being located on Andrews Lane just off Old Cove Rd. and north of Walker County Fire & Rescue Station #12. If all else fails you might try calling them for more precise directions. I hope that is the one you are looking for.
