    1. [GAWALKER] Descendants of Ruel Edwards
    2. Paul Vance
    3. Ruel Edwards was one of the Fortunate Drawers in the county that became Walker. He had one of the first mills in the county and was alive in 1880. He drew land while living in Henry Co. and is listed there in the 1830 census. Here is my interest. Living next to him in 1830 was a William Morgan and his wife Rebecca, who moved to Dade Co. GA. While in Henry Co. the Morgans had a son which they named Ruel Morgan. This is such an unusual name I believe there might have been a family connection. Ruel Edwards named a daughter Rebecca. These are three coincidences that point to a family relationship. 1.) Morgans in Edwards were neighbors in Henry Co. in 1830 2.) William and Rebecca named a son Ruel, a very unusual name. (By the way, Morganville in Dade Co. was named for this Ruel Morgan 3.) Ruel Edwards named a daughter Rebecca. Any connections, guesses or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Paul R. L. 2. I hope that who ever is in charge of next year's reunion will give all of us about six months advance notice so we can plan to come. Thanks.

    2. Hello List, Had such a wonderful time at the reunion, and thank all of you for coming. I have not been to a lot of reunions in my life, so this one was the greatest. Enjoyed meeting all people that I have emailed on researching the Powell's, and other Surnames like Gilreath, Snider, Hobbs, Walin, and would have liked to have talked to someone that was there researching the Dentons from Middle Ten.. If they would like to email me, my email address is: patspringer0000@webtv.net, my snail mail address is: Pat Powell, Springer 1631 Ballou Rd, Floyd Knobs, Indiana, 47119. I plan to be at the next year's reunion also, and would love to see everyone again. I would also like to thank Sheila Stockhausen, Linda Sue Hollingswoth, and Sue Forrester, for all of their time and effort in helping research My Powells. Thanks ever so much to all the List Members for helping me with my research also, and another hats off to Linda Sue Hollingsworth for planing the Reunion!!!!!! See you all next year. Your Southern Indiana Reseacher, Pat C. Powell, Springer

    2. Hello List! Yes, we did have a great time and thank you all for the kind words but Sue you where so busy, getting books and helping that you made it all possible! We are going to do this again next year and we have the best news of all. The operators of the Gordon-Lee Mill have offered for us to use their meeting space next year! Since it is such a special place to all of Walker County Families, I think it is the perfect spot to hold our Reunion! I do want to say that I am sorry today about the label on the Front door which stated it was a Hollingsworth reunion. I think some of you might have came and left not knowing what was going on. The Director of the Civic Center placed that there in error and we did not even notice it up until well into the Reunion! Next year will be much better planned and we will only grow as we go! Thank you again for coming out and making this a great success! Linda Sue

    3. It was a really terrific reunion. I was astonished at the number of people and the many, many Walker County names represented. Made a possible connection on our White's at last, definitely a lead worth pursuing. Plus met a couple from Gadsden, AL who are going to check out something out there on our Bradley/Brumlow line. It is always a wonder to me of the amount of volunteer work our wonderful genealogy family does. I came home with some Walker County books I can hardly wait to get into. Thank to Sue for making a special trip to pick up these for us. And also our hats are off to Linda Sue. She really did a great job on organizing this. We are looking forward to next year, wherever that will be. 2. For all of you who were not able to attend the reunion today because of distance or whatever the reason... you missed a great time. For this being a first time event there were probably about 50+/- people. Not everyone was able to stay all day but hats off to Linda Sue... she did a very good planning job!! I think the one who traveled the longest distance was Pat Springer (researching the Powells of Dade and Walker Co). There were several who traveled well over 100 miles. Already it is being planned for next year... soooooo, make your plans to join us. Sue Forrester
