Found in the 1830 and 1840 Upson Co census. Married Caroline C. GARDNER Aug 21, 1828 in Upson Co. They moved into Pike Co GA; and can be found in the 1850, 1860, 1870 census. caroline died sometime after 1852. Lawrence died Jan 23, 1878 in what is now Lamar Co. The children of Lawrence and Caroline (GARDNER) SMITH are: Sterling L., Thomas A. (married SHEHEE), John T., Sarah A. (?m MORELAND), Mary C. (?m SLADE), Christopher C., Robert B., Obediah Gibson (m SULLIVAN), and Charles H. (?m TORBERT) SMITH. I am a descendant of Obediah Gibson SMITH and Georgia Ann SULLIVAN.
