Collier, an Upson County native, is Hardeman (Hardy) Owen Collier, son of Charles Vines Collier, Sr. Hardeman Owen Collier, Jr. 2nd Lieutenant Mar. 4, 1862. Elected 2nd Lieutenant Aug. 7, 1862; 1st Lieutenant Jan. 14, 1863; Captain Feb. 7, 1864. He was killed at Kennesaw Mountain June 20, 1864 and is buried there.
