The following is from a newspaper dated January 30, 1902: "Master Garland Hobbs, Ernest Darracott and Miss Bertha Hobbs left Monday for Lethe, where they will live." Lethe was a school for orphans, hard luck children. Garland Hobbs (Ernest's cousin) was listed in the 1900 census as living with his uncle, Henry G. Darracott in Upson County, GA. Garland Hobbs was 14 at the time, b. 1886, same age as Ernest would have been. I cannot find any information on Ernest Watson Darracott prior to this article. I know he was born in 1886 in Willington, S.C. but cannot locate who his parents were. Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
