    3. If you can help add anything else to this cemetery, please do. I've been told that D.B. Dickens is very knowledgeable about this one. He's the one who shared his 1850 census and tax analysis with us to show names of people omitted from the Census listing. He's not on-line, so if anyone knows him, maybe you could get his help on this listing. June 6, 1769 Brunswick County, VA d. 1848 (big pile of rocks) Isaac Collier, son of Vines, was born on Tuesday, June 6, 1769 in Brunswick County, Virginia. He removed from Virginia to Wilkes (now Oglethorpe) County, Georgia with his father ca. 1780. He first married Elizabeth Means Smith , daughter of Charles Smith. He served as Clerk of Court for Oglethorpe County and was elected to the Georgia Legislature, HR 1830-1831. He also served in the Georgia State Senate 1832-1833. About 1835 he sold his holdings in Oglethorpe County and moved to Upson County, Georgia. He died in Upson County in 1848 and is buried in the Collier Cemetery near Thomaston, Georgia. A copy of the will of Isaac Collier was transcribed from Upson County records by his great-grandson, John A. Collier of Leland, Mississippi in July of 1929. Elizabeth Means Collier died in 1851. Isaac next married Elizabeth McMurray on March 7, 1840 in Upson County, Georgia. (Elizabeth Means is probably the "Smith" Connection. I have tons of info on Smiths but have not been able to tie them all together because of the commonality of the name.) William Collier [email protected] Virginia Crilley
