    1. [GAUPSON-L] Jane Holliman, Mrs. J.H.B. Butts, Dayton ,Hancock
    2. In MEMORIAM Death at all times is sad, especially when mother is taken. Thus it seems to us in the loss of this estimable mother, Mrs. Jane Holliman, wife to Samuel S. Holliman, Deceased. She was born December 31st, 1839, and died June 17th, 1916, making her stay on earth 79 years, 5 months and 17 days. She was the mother of Eight children, Five of whom survive her. They are: Mrs. J. H. B. Butts, Mrs. M. L. Hancock, Mrs. H. L. Dayton, and Messrs. C. H. and B. K. Holliman. She was a superior woman, Industry, neatness, patience were her prominent characteristics, love and tenderness for her home as well as others shown in her life most beautifully. How grand to live the life of trust and obedience as she has. She joined the Missionary Baptist church early in life and was a consistent member until she passed away. We can't realize she has left us. It appears as a dream of which we can't awake. May the blessed Savior comfort and dry the tears of her loved ones. She had been very feeble for several years but wasn't confined to her bed but about ten days. All was done for her that kind physician, loving children and friends could do, but her Savior called her home and she seemed to be so happy the day she died. Her funeral sermon was rendered by her Pastor, Rev. Hooten, in a very touching and beautiful manner and her body laid to rest in Fellowship Cemetery. "Servant of God well done; Rest from thy loved employ. The battle is fought, the victory won, enter thy Master's Joy" Mrs. C. H. Holliman
