The Thomaston Archives sells a wonderful, very large map of Upson County made in 1897. I believe they are still selling them for $3 plus postage....but you'd need to double check that price, since I bought mine in 1998. This map shows the Land District with Land Lots, the GMD districts, and many schools and churches of the time period, and even some land owners. Since Lisa Graham is working so hard on getting some more Upson County cemeteries on-line by personally visiting them, and others are helping out with some identifications.... I thought you might be helped by my putting on-line portions of the land districts as we are working on these. http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaupson/landmaps.htm You can click on the photo for an enlarged map. I only have ONE on-line, but hopefully will have more later today. Virginia Crilley
Hi, Can someone help me with the parents of Martha Ann Harp, who married Thomas Millen (Miller??) in Upson Co. 29 Jan. 1843? If this Martha Ann actually married Thomas Miller, she (b. abt. 1826 in GA) and Thomas Miller were in Crawford Co. GA in 1850 living very near the families of Martin L. Harp and Green P. Harp, both sons of Dixon Harp. I know there's a book on the Harp family, but I live in SC and don't have access to a copy. I'd appreciate any help, suggestions, clues. I'm happy to share information on Thomas Miller & family. Thanks. Pat Crabtree [email protected]
