Yes, I've been looking for his birthplace & parents for almost 10 years now and had found few people involved w/ this family. I'd found evidence of 2 land grants in the 1830's for N. GA and assumed a military connection of James or possibly his father. I appreciate you sharing your info and I'll do the same. Hope your hunt is successful.
