These families were in Upson Co., GA., the Slaughters in early 1800's and the Shelleys from between 1850-1860. Here's what I have so far John Shelley married Sallie Starling. John had 2 sons that I know of and I think several daughters. According to 1864 school reconrds, John was listed as parent of Jane and Mary. Son James (my line) married Sarah Slaughter, Dau of Wm. Slaughter. Sarah had sisters, Nettie, married Henry Saffold, Georgia Ann married Oliver Martin, Jr. amd a brother, Charley F. that I think married Lena Mae Spinks (July 1919). William Slaughter had a brother, John Gresham Slaughter, second wife was Sallie Riviere. All of the above mentioned families, (including Shepards and Starlings) according to our family history, came in a wagon train to south AR (Drew Co.) mid or late 1890's. John Shelley and Sallie are buried in Upson Co., GA but have not been able to locate the site. Would appreciate any information you would like to share. Sue Johnson Virginia Crilley
