I stumbled on your posting (almost 3 years old now) and wondered if you found that connection you were looking for. I'm just getting started on the Goins clan, my husband's family (selfish ol' me began researching my side first--there was much more to go on there!). I'm trying also to link the Drury name since my father's grandfather's name was Claybon Drewry Goins. My father-in-law doesn't know his grandparents first names, only that she was nee a Smith; they died before he was born I think. Mr. & Mrs. Unnamed Goins had 9 children which they raised in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA. William D. was the oldest (b. abt. 1890), followed by 3 or 4 of the girls (Nora (1895, m. George Knight), Catherine, Sally, ?, & ?) Preston D. Goins was b. 1900, and the last 2 were Claybon (1906) and Eural D. (1909). I came accross in the 1880 census for Lee Co., Alabama, a Martha Goins, age 50, widowed, from GA, and among her children was a 17 year old Drury, who could have been the father of the nine above. I have a tendency to think the Drury name may be a generation further back since it's misspelled in Claybon's name, of course that could have been a paperwork error also. Ii wish I could be of some help to your research, but right now I'm struggling to get 3 generations back! If you have come accross anything you feel may help me. I'd greatly appreciate the assistance. Thank you, Veronica
