McVay (McVey) served as a Confederate soldier in Co A., 46th Reg't GA Volunteer Infantry, he earned the Southern Cross of Honor. Joseph sold and purchased land in Talbot Co between 1831 & 1835. This line of McVay's (all spellings)may have originated in SC. Some moved to Randolph Co., AL after 1850. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!
