Matthew's wife was Elizaqbeth ?, whom he married about 1840 in Upson County. I am also seeking info on Absolom DAVIS, who married Amanda PHILLIPS (daughter of Matthew, above). Don Collin's shared the pension application of Enoch Collins...who was a member of Pruden's Artillery... This led me to seek info about this group... Enoch Collins was a member from "seven months from 1864 to 1865" -- and perhaps it was one of those formed near the close of the war. anyway, as I glanced down this list -- I recognized some other Taylor County men... it seemed perhaps these were older men (the ones too old for a normal regiment). Take a look and see if you locate any of your ancestors. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alachua and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 105 in High Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orin Lee "George" Holloway. Survivors include daughters Janie Faust of Tampa and Judy Dahlstrom of Marion, N. C.; sons Dr. Wescoat O. Holloway of Middleburg and William M. "Bill" Holloway of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
