I would like to ask all Upson County researchers to make a small donation to The Upson County Cemetery Preservation Society . This is a new Society that is being established that will help maintain and clean up the old mill cemetery. I am not making this request on there behalf but only as to help raise money to help restore, and maintain the Old Mill Cemetery, in Thomaston, GA. I know each of you that have had family buried in Upson would hate to see any badly overgrown cemetery. It breaks my heart to see cemeteries that have been allowed to just fall into ruins. Diane Caldwell has taken on a one woman crusade doing the work her self to save and preserve this old cemetery if we cannot help her in person lets help her financially. Even the smallest donation will help. Most of us just about throw away five bucks a week PLEASE GIVE any amount, Diane is holding a raffle don't wait and see how she will do be part of the process and produce results. Thank you for reading this and I pray that you will open your heart and save the Old Mill Cemetery Contact her at power2000@gnat.net Thank you in advance for you generous contribution. God Bless you, Larry Childs

The meetings were well attended and considerable interest was manifested at each service. At the Missionary Baptist Church Sunday night candidates for admission received during the recent revival were baptized by the pastor, Rev. W.W. Arnold. Nineteen candidates were baptized. The service was a most impressive one and was attended by a large congregation. Superior Court The May term of Upson Superior Court will convene next week. The officers of the court have been busy for several days getting everything in readiness. As usual there will be heavy dockets of both civil and criminal business. Just how much will be disposed of is problematical. There is plenty of business to run the full two weeks but it is not known whether court will be held that long. The cases on the civil docket will be called as they appear and the whole docket finished as soon as possible, it is understood. The Butler Herald Tuesday, June 8, 1915 Page Five Clipped From Our Contemporaries Thomaston Times The Time has been requested by Messrs. Thad Persons and J.F. Hammons, of Yatesville, to issue a challenge to the marble players of Upson County for games at times and places to be agreed upon. George Moore, a bout about 18 years of age was accidentally killed at the Thomaston Cotton Mills Monday afternoon about 6 oclock. Accounts differ as to the exact manner of his death but is reported that he was playing with the elevator and while swinging from one of the steam heat pipes in the ceiling of one of the rooms lost his hold, falling to the floor, the shock causing his death as no bones were broken in his body.
