J. Benfield officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The native Upsonian died Tuesday, March 3 at her home at 576 Andrews Chapel Road. She joined the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in 1909. Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Frankie Tillman and Mrs. Lois Bosdell, both of Thomaston, Mrs. Elizabeth Rackley, Statesboro, one son, Joseph Hammonds, Thomaston, six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive. Five grandsons and one grandson-in-law served as pallbearers. Haney, 75, of 821 Greenvale Road, died early Wednesday morning Oct. 17, 1984, at Upson County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Home with the Rev. Ross Mothershed and the Rev. H.F. Freeman officiating. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Entombment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A native of Forsyth County, Ga., Mr. Haney had been a resident of Upson County for 55 years and retired from Thomaston Mills in 1962. He was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church. Mr. Hamrick retired from the B. F. Goodrich Company in June 1963. Easley, Sr., 94, of Bardstown, Ky. died on Monday, Nove. 25, 1985 at Ireland Army Hospital at Fort Knox. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 29, at Arch L. Heady Fern Creek Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment was held in Cave Hill Cemetery. Mr. Easley was a former Louisville police chief and safety director and U.S. Marshal. He lived in Bardstown, and was a native of Frankfort and a retired Army brigadier general He retired in 1959 as president of the old Southern Liquor Distribution Co., and had been a federal prohibition agent. He was appointed police chief in 1926 and according to news reports, was the city's first safety director. He ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Louisville as a Republilcan in 1945. He had been an executive director of the Kentucky Disable Ex-servicemens's Board, and had also been director of the Department of Welfare's Correction Department. In 1921 he helped organize the 149th Infantry Division of the Army National Guard, and was appointed commander in 1935. During World War 11 he was assistant division commander of the 38th " Cyclone" Division in the Phillippines, and received the Bronze Star and other honors. He is survived by his wife, the former Fay O'Nan of Bardstown, one son, Col. Roy W. Elliott, 66, of 629 Rocky Bottom Road, died at the Upson County Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1985. Funeral services were conducted at the Coggins Chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. The Rev. Aubrey Sheats and the Rev. John Jerrard officiated. Interment was held in New Bethel Cemetery. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Elliott was a life-long resident of Thomaston. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Herbert Elliott of Thomaston, two daughters; Mrs. Sara Pitts of Thomaston, and Mrs. Sandreth Brantley of Macon, one brother, Mr. Roger Legg of Barnesville, four sisters; Mrs. Irene Estes of Barnesville, and Mrs. Dorothy Montomery, both of Barnesville, Mrs. Grace Rogers and Mrs. Louise Presley, both of Thomaston. Mr. Elrod died Thursday afternoon, June 19, 1986 at the Upson County Hospital. The Rev. John Jones and the Rev. James A. Coogler officiated. Entombment was held in Upson Memorial Gardens. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Elrod was a native of Cobb County. He has been a resident of Upson County for 54 years. Mr. Elrod retired from the Finishing Division of the Thomaston Mills as a shift foreman. He had also been a rural carrier fo the Thomaston Post Office. Mr. Elrod was a Naval Verernan of World War 11. He was a member of Emory's Chapel Baptist Church, East Thomaston Lodge No. 175, Free and Accepted Masons and the Al Sihah Temple of the Shrine. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylor County. Mrs. Jarrell was a native of Talbot County and was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters; Miss Mildred Jarrell of Macon, Mrs. Willa Jane Holmes of Thomaston, Mrs. Jewel Oliver of Chamblee, Mrs. Annie Ruth Patton of Guntersville, Ala., Mrs. Betty Widener of Macon, one son, Arthur Lee Jarrell of Thomaston.
