I thought I'd told you so you could update the web link, but it slipped through the cracks, apparently! Anyway, it's been expanded, and now includes several more families besides NELSON. Other surnames include ELLINGTON, SELF, HELMS, FALLIN and FORCE. Once I get my data completely crossed over from Ultimate Family Tree to Reunion, more familes will be added. Some of these will be PERSON(S), TRAYLOR/BAILEY and possibly some of the TRICE family, at least those needed to "connect" the collateral lines in the other families.     3. I'm on several mailing lists and can't recall which one mentioned the name of Theodocia McLean so excuse this if you get more than one copy. The following information came from the website address: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~blumbarton/mclean.htm and there is much McLean info there. Just copy and paste. John McLean was born on March 17, 1803 in York County, SC. On May 13, 1830 he married Rebecca Cavender in Fayette County, Ga. They had eight children. Joseph Miller McLean, born November 4, 1831 in Fayette County, Ga. Joseph married Mildred Ann Alford in Upson County, Ga. on August 4, 1860 and they had one child, Theodocia McLean before he went off to war. He died on April 7, 1863 in Richmond, Va. Hope this helps! The Thomaston-Upson Archives has a complete run of them from 1866 onward. Nineteenth century Georgia tax digests are divided into two parts, White and Colored. The arrangement is by militia district, then alphabetically by initial of surname. Colored tax digests list name of tax payer, AND name of his employer! Check records of homestead exemptions for the same period. They usually list husband and wife's name, sometimes children's names. Check marriage records. Spelling variations: Durrah, Dorough.
