    2. Mr. F. V. PLUMSTEAD Dies Suddenly This community was saddened Wednesday afternoon by the sudden death of Mr. F. V. Plumstead. He was stricken suddenly while at work at the Pasley Hotel and died in a few hours afterwards. His death was caused by Paralysis. Mr. Plumstead's body was carried to Fayettville Thursday morning and the funeral and burial will occur Friday, the exercises to be conducted by Rev. Dixon, pastor Thomaston Methodist church. Mr. Plumstead was 47 years old. He was a member of the Methodist church. He moved here from Fayettville several years ago and had won esteem and respect of the people of the community by his upright life. The deceased leaves a wife and two children, Mrs. W.A. Adams, and a young son. The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved family.

    2. IN LOVING MEMORY OF EUGENE FERGUSON On May 13, 1915, God sent his messenger into the happy home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Ferguson and took from an unbroken circle, the pure spirit of Little Eugene and wafted it to that home, "not made with hands, eternal in Heavens," there to meet and dwell with Him who said, "suffer little children to unto me, and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." He was sick only a few days. God entrusted him to the care of earthly parents only two years and six months.     2. IN Memory On the night of March 1st, about 11 o'clock, God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call from our midst, our Dear Father, Columbus W. Daniel, who was born Jan 18, 1851, making his stay on earth 71 years, 1 month and 13 days. He was married to Miss Mary Smith in 1872. She only lived about a year. In Oct. 1875 he married Miss Lucy Ann Brown. To this union ten children were born. His wife proceeded him to the grave about 27 years ago. He is survived by one brother, J. J. Daniel of Sedalia, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary McCullogh, Opelika AL., Mrs. Julia Fuller of Phenix City, AL., and Mrs. George Martin of Manchester Ga. His children are: Messrs. L. E. , A. H., W.C., and E.R. Daniel of Thomaston GA and Messrs B. W. and G.B. Daniel of Molena, Ga. and Mrs. J. J. Buckholts, Mrs. Aubrey Ferguson and Mrs. Lucy M. Wise, all of Thomaston, Ga. and Mrs. J.C. Gill, Woodbury Ga. He was sick only a week but bore suffering with patience, never at any time showing fear of death.

    2. MRS. N. A. SAPPINGTON DIES Mrs. Martha Catherine Sappington widow of the late Newsome A. Sappington died at the home of her son, E.P. Sappington in Thomaston, on the afternoon of June 8, 1925. She was buried in the family Cemetery in Lamar County, June 9, 1925. The funeral was preached at Prospect Methodist Church, by Rev. S.R. England, pastor of Thomaston Methodist church assisted by Rev. M.M. Walraven of Atlanta. Mrs. Sappington is survived by the following children: B.P., E.P., G.N. and Miss Sarah Sappington of Thomaston, W. G. Buford Sappington of Chipley, Mrs. H. G. Buford of Barnesville, Mrs. W.C. JOHNSTON of Hogansville and Thos. J. Sappington of Eastman; also one sister, Mrs. M. F. Carriker of Barnesville and a number of grandchildren. Mrs. Sappington was daughter of REV. W. H. Graham, deceased, one of the pioneer Methodist Preachers of Ga. The people of Thomaston join in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

    3. Lisa is doing such a wonderful job typing up these obits...and I know that you all have questions that you're dying to find the answers to. But please keep in mind that Lisa is just doing us a service -- she made copies of an old scrapbook that she found in the Thomaston Archives. She is typing up everything she "sees"....many did NOT have dates on them. She wishes she had the answers to your questions....but she just doesn't....and feels badly about this. So please, just ask your question to the Upson List or write to me, and I'll do my best to answer (not that I would have any more answers either!!). We're all searching through everything we have available to try to find these answers. Sharing is how we're going to do this. Virginia Crilley

    2. MRS. L. F. FARLEY DIED WEDNESDAY The body of Mrs. L. F. Farley was found in bed at home in this City Wednesday morning, having passed away suddenly in the night. She had been subject to heart trouble for years and it is believed over exertion exertion caused a sudden attack which took her life. The funeral and burial occurred Thursday morning from the Thomaston Methodist Church, the Pastor, Rev. S.R. England , Officiating. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended. Mrs. Farley was about 71 years of age and was one of the city's most highly esteemed ladies. She was a member of Thomaston Methodist Church. The deceased is survived by her husband, one son, Mr. T.L. Farley of Thomaston and three Daughters, Mrs. W.Y. Daniel and Mrs. T.J. Reeves of Thomaston, and Mrs. Pink English of Barnesville. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of the people of the community in the loss of wife and mother.

CULLODEN BOY WITH EYES SHOT OUT DIES William Person, 15 year old son of Mrs. Katie Pierson, of Culloden, whose eyes were shot out from a bullet from a pistol in the hands of a negro in Culloden on Dec 23, died Tuesday night at 11:00 p.m. at Williams Sanatorium in Macon. The child was rushed to Macon immediately after the accident and after receiving medical treatment, Doctors said he would live but would lose his eyesight. Recently however he took a turn for the worse.

Her remains were carried to Crawford Co. for burial and intered at Beaver Dam Cemetery. She had been sick for two weeks. Stephen's Undertaking Company had charge of Funeral arrangements.

    2. LONG H.D. Long died at his home on Long branch on Tuesday after an illness of one week. His Funeral and burial occurred at Hendrix Church, Rev. J. H. Taylor conducting the exercises. The body was laid to rest in Hendrix Cemetery. Mr. Long was 69 years of age and a member of the Hendrix Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow and nine children.

    2. Mr. Arthur Mathis Mr. Arthur Mathis died at the Willows Hotel, East Thomaston, last Saturday as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident three weeks ago. His Body was carried from Lindale Sunday and buried from New Bethel Church. Mr. Mathis was 42 years of age and is survived by his widow, four brothers and four sisters, all of Lindale.

    2. MRS. JAMES W. ATWATER DEAD. Mrs. James W. Atwater died Saturday night at a private sanitarium in Jacksonville, Fl., after a brief illness of pneumonia. She had been there for several weeks on a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Fred Farris. Her Body was brought to Thomaston Monday Morning. The funeral occurred at the home Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., the exercises being conducted by Elder Heard of the Primitive Baptist Church. The body was laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery at the conclusion of the exercises, beside that of her husband, who preceded her to the grave about two years ago. Mrs. Atwater was about 65 years of age and leaves the following children: Mrs. W.P. Leonard of Talbotton Mrs. J. Henry Smith of Griffin Mrs. George B. Turpin of Macon Mrs. Roland Spain of New York Mrs. Fred Farris of Jacksonville Fl. and Capt. James R. Atwater of Thomaston Elder Heard in speaking of the deceased in his remarks at the funeral said that he had never known a more sincere, lovable, Christian Woman. The people of the community join in extending sympathy to the bereaved children in the loss of their beloved Mother.

    2. MRS. W. T. HOMES OF CULLODEN Mrs. W. T. Homes of Culloden died Saturday at her home in Culloden after an illness of considerable length. Her funeral and burial occurred Sunday at the Primitive Baptist Church in Culloden. The exercises were conducted by Elder A. V. Agin, Pastor Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, assisted by Elder W.W. Childs of Yatesville. The body was laid to rest in Culloden Cemetery. Mrs. Holmes had been in declining health for sometime and the end was not unexpected. She was 57 years of age and was a member of the Culloden Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by her Husband and five children, three daughters, Mrs. Grady Woodall of Griffin, Mrs. Homer Lunsford and Miss Carolyn Holmes of Culloden, two sons, Mr. Cleveland Holmes of Macon and Mr. Jewett Holmes of Culloden.
