    3. Hi Becky and Marsha- Thanks for your replys to my inquiry-a little background might help.also Hi,Bob ! 1. Inman Stephens is my gg-grandfather.He marrried Susannah Hobbs in Upson in 1825. YThey had six sons and three daughters. 2.all six sons were either killed or died of wounds, one being my g-grandfather,Seaborn Riley Stephens.,d.at Jonesboro,Ga. 9/5/1864-my grandfather,Jonathan Lafayette, was 10 at this time. 3The other boys were John B,Thomas J,Charles Inman,William M.,and Wiley Green.I habve no information as to any children, alto all were married ecept Wiley Green, the youngest 3.The girls were : Cassey Ann,Mahala, and Maranda==they narriedRobert Bridges,William Gassett, and Jasper Woodall, respectively. 4.all children were born in the period 1826-1840. 5.Susannah was born in Wake County,NC.,1801.-the family later moved to Upson County I am now making the rash assumption that the parents of Inman and Susannah Hobbs may have known each other in NC. ?? The Inman Steephens family were last reported(as a family) on the Upson census ,1850.Also,reported on the census is a female,Priscilla, age 75.'giving a dob ca.1775 I have tried to connect Priscilla to the family as being Inman's mother,no such luck yet. Research of Ga. marriages thru 1850,by counties, does notshow aNY Stephens marrying a Priscilla. That is reason for looking to either SC or NC for Inman's predecessors. The name Inman seems to be unusual, and there is a town in SC by the name of Inman. The only road I can find on my Ga. map is State road 112,going S. from Toomsboro. Possily an inquiry in the townmight yield an answer,re Mackey Cemetery. I welcome all information, and view it as possible leads to my dead end !! Thanks again, from Virginia- Bill Stephens e mail : patabill@nexet.net
