I am searching for information on the Lewis Gaddis shown on the attached from the 1850 census. A Lewis Gaddis who appears to be this one also shows up on the 1840 and 1834 census lists. I believe he was born about 1799 in NC and married a Margaret Lancaster from SC. Any help will be appreciated. 969 GADDIS Lewis 47 NC Margaret 43 SC Eline 20 SC Elizaan 18 Allen 14 Elvira 12 Margaret 10 Perlina 8 Archabald 5 I am also searching for info on the Allen Gaddis shown above. He was born around 1836, married Sarah Elizabeth Williams on Jan. 20 1857 and had the following children according to the 1880 census: Lewis 6, Allen 3, Fannie 8, Columbia 9, Joanna 14, Georgia 17, and John F. 20. Family legend is that Lewis b.1874 in Union Co. (Gaddistown) moved to Kansas at age 12 with his family and was sent to Cotulla, Texas at age 15 to work for his Uncle Dr. J.M. Williams in Dr. Williams drug store. I know the Cotulla part is factual, but have know knowledge of the family's migration from Georgia. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, David M.
