Tony, There is a map in the front of the book that is handwritten. It shows a Nottley River east of the Old Salem Church where Rev. John Lance used to preach back in the late 1800s. Of course I don't know if was a drawing of present day or olden times. I just thought it was a coincidence about the first post saying that the man murdered in her family was a Mr. Ledford in 1935-40. I wonder if he is any relation to the Tom Ledford who found the Reverend's body in 1890. This book has fascinated me since I am researching my husband's Saxon/Saxton's family and they lived at the same time period that John Lance did--1860 to 1870 in Choastoah, Union County. I loved this book and you will too!
