Lynda: Look on the Chapman Cherokee rolls in Union County. The arch you speak of may be Archibald Sneed who married Mary ANN Sneed, a full blood Cherokee. They list their childre. Mr Great grandfathr is listed as John Harrison Snned, born in 1847 in Union County, GA. I think Arch had many children THAT ARE NO ACCOUNTED FOR.. All I have on Arch Sneed is that he was the father of Sarah Josephine, who went by the name of Frerichs. She was born in 1880, 1881 or 1883, depending on which record you read. Her application for SS card lists her father as Arch Sneed. Her mother was Mary Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Frerichs. There is a marriage record in Monroe Co., TN for Arch Sneed and Elizabeth Frerichs dated 17 Nov 1889. Elizabeth was listed on the 1900 census of Monroe Co as Elizabeth Sneed, widowed with Sarah, age 19 and Marion H. , age 13 (he died in 1907 & was born in Feb 1887 or 1889) Elizabeth then married Elijah Smith, but they had no children. Sarah married James William 'Will' Peels in Monroe Co and lived there the rest of her life. Sooo it is possible 'my' Arch Sneed and your 'Arch Sneed is the same person. That is the ONLY Arch Sneed/Snead I have found in any records that would fit! Thanks for your help.
