Thanks for the input. Given Betty Knight's response to my posting and your input, I can see how George Fair's family could be confused (and that prolific crowd has many of them to be confused). I've carried the name in my FAIR family research as CALDWELL for years but my inclination now to change it to COLWELL. I've already picked up your point about FAIN/FAIR. Per my input, Cat Tindell has since corrected FAIN to FAIR in my G/GF Charles Fair's 1880 Union County LYC household (171).
