Effective today, 2-3-01, the switch that has allowed queries posted to both county boards, to be automatically posted to our email lists, was turned OFF. My reasons came after months of watching these queries go to our lists and what happened next. Some of you may not have realized, but these queries were being permanently stored at the query forum/board at GenConnect, but also within our email lists' archives. Both areas are searchable, so there is no need for this duplication and wasting valuable 'free server' space at RootsWeb. Some of our email subscribers may not need all this extra email and not all ISP are generous with the amount of space they allow for personal email storage. >From today forward, you'll need to go directly to our county query boards to view what's been posted recently. BUT, how will we know if some one replies from an older query, will we have to look though all of the queries that we have posted? Even a year ago?
