    1. [GAUNION] Status of Census Data & Our County
    2. Carol Ann Tindell
    3. Hi Everyone....!!!! Here's a quick update on where we are with our county's census info: <http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaunion/Census.htm> 1. As of today, we now have an index to the 1860 census. 2. Jan Pieroni has had to resign from her project transcribing the huge 1900 census due to personal reasons. I will be retrieving the microfilm printouts from her in the next 2 weeks and I'll see if I can finish it over the summer. After I finish it, I'll do an index for it as well. 3. Sharon Gardner is continuing to provide us with 'complete' data for the 1920 census; but we still have partial info for all districts thanks to Rosemary Harbin. Sharon is also doing an index as she completes each district. 4. We have a volunteer for the 1910 census but we are having trouble getting it off the ground. It's probably as large as the 1900 census so anyone that can help out...just let me know. If we divide it up, maybe we can conquer it faster...<BG> 5. I believe we are still missing a district or 2 of the 1860 census. Can someone check on this for us?? 6. The above will finish all available census data for our county!! THANK YOU to all the great volunteers that helped. I am very proud of what we have been able to accomplish working as a team. I believe we are one of only a handful of counties in the USGenWeb that has this much census data on-line. I will be targeting Fannin Co. 1880-1920 census as our next project since so many of our Union Co. folks wound up on those censuses after the 1854 county lines were changed. This is also true for Towns Co., so anyone that help transcribe a census or two, please volunteer. We have been waiting years to see the 1860 Towns Co. census on-line and I know it will certainly help all Union Co. researchers. Can anyone help the Towns Co., GAGenWeb Coordinator out ??
