Hi-- I was sent this ROGERS line by a researcher who queried on Caroline Rogers: William Cockram (b: Abt. 1769 in NC d: April 26, 1841 in Avery's Creek, Buncombe Co., NC) had a daughter: Clarissa Cockram b: Abt. 1793 in NC .....+ROBERT ROGERS b: Abt. 1792 in Tenn. CHILDREN: Miranda Rogers b: Abt. 1823 Caroline Rogers b: Abt. 1825 in NC ..... +W. S. Murray b: Abt. 1820** in NC Salina Rogers b: Abt. 1830 in NC ..... +Calton Willson b: Abt. 1827 in NC Thomas Rogers b: Abt. 1833 Hamilton Rogers b: Abt. 1836 ..... +Elizabeth Unknown b: Abt. 1785 in NC d: Aft. 1850 in Avery's Creek, Buncombe Co., NC W.S. and Caroline (Rogers) Murray ended up in Union County, Georgia. Maybe some of Caroline's siblings and cousins did, too. I was disappointed not to find your Sara Jane Rogers among Robert Rogers' children. I'm having such difficulty with my Union County line. I was sent the data above by another researcher with whom I've lost contact. From various posts, I begin to get a picture of a lot of people who left Buncombe Co., NC and settled in Union County, Georgia, as Cherokee land became available (possibly even before the removal). Some of these NC families remained in Union and Fannin Co. (Fannin formed in 1854 from a segment of Union.) However, some travelled on to Oklahoma when land became available there. This is making research difficult, as I see by other queries on Union County lines of research. If you find that your Rogers is related to Robert, please let me know.
