Just learned this weekend that my grandfather, Finley Lester "Ted" WILSON told his daughter that he was 1/8 Indian. I would imagine that would make Ted's great grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Jones LONG 1/2 Indian. Betty married Levi LONG in NC. Their daughter, Margaret, married Boyd WILSON in Union Co, GA in 1853. I'm very surprised with this new information. Does anyone have any JONES that claimed Indian blood? It's my understanding this was a well guarded secret.
