    3. Hi! List, Last week I got to visit the birthplace of my Grand- father & the place 2 sets of my GGrandparents lived for many years. Gaddistown Dist., Suches, Ga. What a beautiful area. My GGrandparents were Brookshier's & Thomasons's. It is listed that my GGGrandfather, James Brookshier, helped to build & start the "Hill Church" Mt. Pleasant #2. I would like any info on him I can get. Does anyone know if he's buried at this church? Is his wife Nancy Meadows buried there? In the 1850, Union Co. census it lists my GGrand- father Wm. Wright Brookshier living with his Grand- father Thomas Meadows. Thomas Meadows was in his 90's at the time. Does anyone know anything about the Meadows? My Grandfather, Greene Alexander Brookshier, went to school & church in the "Hill Church" until he was 16 years old & the family moved to Mo. leaving behind their Brookshier & Thomason relatives. Forty years later my father took Grandpa Greene back to Suches for a visit. That was probably around 1926/28. My father said they stayed with a cousin that ran the post office. Anyone know who that was? I looked in the Union Co. History Book & there was one womans name it might be. My Grandfather, Greene Alexander Brookshier, was the kindest, caring man. He could grow anything & was well known in Mo. for his wonderful gardens. I have always heard the stories of Gaddistown & Suches & it took me till I was 60 years old to get there. We Missourians tend to go out to Colorado where it's not so hot, but it was not extremely hot & so beautiful in northern Ga. The people were so friendly & helpful. We regret the museum in Blairsville was closed. We were there on a Tues. Beverly Brookshier Sullins, Chilhowee, Mo. [email protected]
