Carol, My gggrandfather in 1850 Census of Union co.Ga was head of house hold -Zenobia NELSON b.1817 SC age 33 w/wife and 3 children. Towns co was carved from Union co. In 1860 Census they were in Towns co. He was listed as Sibu NELSON ( same wife, same children plus 6 more). Only his wife, Martha b.1825 NC was in 1870 census w/children. I haven't seen Zenobia or Sibu anywhere before or since. I thought surely being in his early 40's, he must have been in the Civil War but can find nothing.
