In reading and researching some information on our families, I came across a couple of interesting statements that I really would like to pursue further. One is that slavery WAS the main issue for Georgia entering the Civil War. The second statement was that only 40% of the slaves in Georgia were negroes, the rest were whites, mixed blood indians and Cherokees left behind after the removal. Any Civil War buffs out there?
