    2. DEBBIE WOOLF: For your information, the message I sent to you with a copy to CAT's address < cat@tds.net > was returned as "unknown." That means, of course, that she no longer uses that address. I have no idea how to get in touch with her. Yes, I have heard of about some of this controversy. There are all sorts of understandings and/or misunderstandings about the situation, but I think the bottom line is: Somebody is greedy and wants to make a buck off other people's hard work. Thank you Solomon, Boy, I sure hate to see CAT give up her site. There is a current controversy among GENWEB and US GEN WEB or some such groups. One has joined up with Ancestry.com and soon the info. will only be available by subscriptions. Many, many things that were donated by people are being used (I understand) unless it specifically forbid it. I know of several county sites which were pulled and are awaiting new homes. There is a group looking to re- establish the free database. Because of this and the possibility of the info. being 'charged' they simply chose to pull the pages. As I understood it, the problem was there was some sort of permission given that if it was on their site it came THEIR COPYRIGHT and then the other sites would be charged, even though that's where the source came from in the beginning. It's truly a mess, and I may not understand it completely or accurately..but the way I'm describing it is as I understood it. I do have an email from a reputable person about it if you have any interest. For now, I hope it all remains fee. That's what it was intended to be when people donated. I know I have some cemetery info. I have given, and census info. along the way that I never intended to be a paid source. I believe it is protected by the statement it is my work (at some sites) and can not be used without my permission. I certainly don't want someone to make a profit out of my time (that I took walking and writing) in those cemeteries. For now, thanks, hope my message wasn't too boring. Debbie
