I know that the cemetery list on the old Union County site was copied from a book that was done by the Historical Society and because of Copyright Infringement had to be removed. CemeterySurveysInc.Com is doing a wonderful job in filling the void and making the information better by including photos. (Thank you Rose, Nicki and crew.) The Western North Carolina site is also gone (www.GoldenBranches.Com). It covered Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon, Yancey and perhaps some other counties. My personal opinion is that anyone who serves as an administrator to any of the county sites should be required to turn over the information to the USGENWEB when they retire. Whenever there are changes to policies and procedures that don't fit into their agenda some Administrators take their "toys" and go home. They forget that many of us donated the raw data (either to the site or Genealogical Societies) and gave permission for it to be posted. The administrators prettied it up and put it into webpages. For that we owe them a debt of gratitude. I have a lot of data from Union and Fannin and Cherokee (NC) and would be happy to do lookups. Most is on microfilm or quarterlies. Janice Pate PS: Include the word "GENEALOGY" in the subject line or the e-mail goes in the trash. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/
